Siddaramaiah to be next Chief Minister of Karnataka, D K Shivakumar to be his Deputy.
- Congress leader Siddaramaiah will be the next Chief Minister of Karnataka. Addressing the media in New Delhi, party general secretary KC Venugopal informed that Karnataka Congress President D K Shivakumar will serve as the only deputy Chief Minister of the state. He added that Shivakumar will continue as the PCC president till the end of the parliamentary elections. The Swearing-in of the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister and a few legislators as ministers is scheduled to take place on Saturday.
- Meanwhile, the Karnataka Congress legislature party will meet in Bengaluru this evening. Karnataka Congress President DK Shivakumar called the meeting at 7:30 PM. All Congress MLAs elected in the recently concluded assembly elections, the Members of the Legislative Council and the Members of Parliament from Karnataka have been invited to the meeting.
